Beneath its mechanical appearances, Jean-Paul Groove's music owes nothing to computers or machines. Handcrafted from the heart, the trio's electronics are played in the presence of real instruments. This is because the group relies on the precepts of "reverse engineering". Or the art of reformulating computer coding using human means. This concept, popularized by Swiss drummer Jojo Mayer (Nerve), crystallizes not only the project's intentions, but also its name. A strange physical resemblance between Jojo Mayer and a famous French actor is the source of a decisive pun.
