• ABOUT & WATCH:
Jokkoo is an artistic musical collective from Barcelona, ​​which was created four years ago and is still active to this day. It was born with the intention and the need to investigate and spread the most contemporary electronic sound and the avant-garde scene of the African continent and its diaspora. The absence of these sounds and currents in local events and clubs on the European circuit led us as a collective to create connections and spaces where non-hegemonic musical aesthetics are put at the center. The collective, which currently has six members, is made up of Maguette Dieng (Mbodj) Baba Sy, Oscar Tylor (Opoku), Nicolas Belliot (Mookie), Ismäel Ndiaey (B4mba) and their most recent addition, Miriam Camara (TNTC). Six distinct personalities with the common goal of establishing Afroelectronic hybrid music and diasporic narratives in the global community.
