Razen (B.) & Guilhem All (Fr.)
Post-residency concert presented by VOLTA and AB
06.03.2025
In early March, Razen, together with turntablist Guilhem All, will hold a multi-day residency at Volta, where they will also record a new album, to be released later this year on Kraak. At the end of the residency, they will present the new work in a showcase, which you are also invited to attend.
Razen has been active since 2010 and has released numerous albums on labels such as KRAAK, Marionette, TAL, and Hands In The Dark. The growing international interest in experimental music from Belgium in recent years can largely be attributed to collectives like Razen. With their electro-folk intensity and instrumentation, Razen’s music is globally unique.
Guilhem All is an instinctive turntable artist from Brest, France, whose approach is both unique and captivating. Working with three turntables, self-made dubplates, and a range of small objects like paper, cardboard, and other materials, he creates syncopated grooves and hazy drones. His method is simple yet profound—he leans over the turntables where discs he has found, composed, crushed, or combined spin. He weaves and intertwines the raw, tactile elements of sound. The result can lead listeners into a hypnagogic trance. Guilhem is never intrusive; he simply suggests and invites his audience into a world of subtle, complex soundscapes.
