• About Samuel Ber:
The process of creating a solo performance was triggered by my interest in 2 things: approaching time in all its "thickness" and "playing the piano" on the drums.
This music crystallized itself under the form of small containers, various folds and some dirt.
I'm trying to look at the body and the memory as an environment, to engender implied or imaginary melodies, to see ambiguity or ambivalence as a source of playfulness. And, rather than analyze "what" to believe in, to observe the feeling of belief/trust itself.
In the case of this solo, I was particularly inspired by philosophy and films, more than by musical sources actually. But, whatever it comes from, at the end, everything merges back into a kind of angular, intervallic and waterish musical stream.
