ZEMLYA
Under the name of Zemlya, Maan Methven and Geraldine Vanspauwen (Lazzaro) shape the land of Zemlya’s sound. Their self-titled debut EP will be released by Bonambi on the 16th of March. Zemlya’s “earth, land” is formed by spherical drone layers, serene distortion, voices and crashing cymbals. Joined by Victor Goemaere since 2024, their live performance shares energy between drums, bass, guitar and voice, that connects clarity and distortion, finds intimacy in feedback, and explores both rough noise and uplifting silence, soaking in the deeper fields of imagined landscapes.
INDRÊ
Indrė Jurgelevičiūtė is a Lithuanian singer, kanklės (Baltic psaltery) player, sound artist and composer. In her music she creates tranquil and other-worldly soundscapes combining the elements of Lithuanian folk songs, improvisation and electronics. She is often performing as a solo artist or with her band Merope together with Belgian guitarist and electronic artist Bert Cools and her work is represented by art platform 'granvat'. Their latest album 'Salos' with Vilnius Chamber Choir 'Jauna Muzika' is released on Stroom and granvat. Indrė has collaborated with diverse array of musicians including Shahzad Ismaily, Tsubasa Hori, Gyda Valtysdottir, Solo Cissokho, Efterklang and Toma Gouband. She also composed for theatre and multimedia, one of her recent works being music for 'Yerma' adaptation commissioned by Stockholm Dramaten theatre. During her live sets Indrė sings Lithuanian folk songs and gently weaves them into her own soundscapes combining acoustic and electronic sounds, field recordings and improvisation. The songs are talking about connection with nature, flowers, birds, trees, stones, bees, sun, moon and stars, ritual magic of everyday life and transformation.
NÂR
NÂR is a Lebanese multi-instrumentalist, singer and composer based in Beirut. In a constant metamorphosis, she works with various instruments, her voice and different objects she finds. Abrasive, hypnotic, NÂR’s performances are sonic experiments and live improvisations built up from A to Z, often led by short sentences on repeat like mantras. Her music takes its roots in a very large spectrum of sounds, inspiration or genre such as middle eastern and north African trance, industrial and electronic music. In 2022, NÂR took a more radical direction and created her Time machine. A handcrafted instrument composed of old clocks, bells and other metallic objects giving birth to a new dimension in her practice and allowing more rawness to her sound. "NÂR" is not a “Project” , it's a journey and the reflection of the fire burning inside me. A succession of sacred mistakes, a cult to the unknown”
TRESS
Under the moniker of TRESS, Victor Goemaere sculpts sounds into sharp, propulsive elements and weaves them together into highly emotional, textural and polyrhythmic compositions. Mainly focussing on modern synthesis and sampling techniques he hovers on the border between the artificial and the organic. This provokes an intuitive sonic landscape, where the world of cinema, club music and the cosmos are crosscutting each other in fast speed.
NO ANGEL (DJ)
Rising from a long slumber, No Angel wakes to a new light in the forest. Ripping out the rotten roots of comparison, boundaries and practiced beliefs he creates a clearing for a new ritual to emerge.
