Halehan

Halehan, real name Alexandre Lambrecht, is a Brussels-based singer-songwriter born in 1994. Raised in a bilingual family, with both French- and Dutch-speaking influences, he grew up surrounded by American jazz, folk and blues.

He started making music at a young age, forming the pop-rock band Throw Television at just twelve. He later moved to London, where he co-founded the electropop duo Mannequins on 7th Street with producer Tim De Fontaine. After studying songwriting at the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance, he returned to Belgium and launched his solo project Halehan in 2017.

His music constantly moves between folk, alternative pop, electropop, R&B, neo-soul and jazz influences, refusing to settle into a single genre. His songs are driven by intimate and poetic songwriting, carried by a warm voice and arrangements that move from acoustic sounds to more experimental electronic textures.

Across several EPs and his album Hiraeth, Halehan has developed a free and eclectic musical identity, with a constant search for new sounds at the heart of his creative process.
