Joëlle Francis

Joëlle Francis, who also performs under the name Joël Francis, is a Belgian singer-songwriter based in Brussels. Her music blends R&B, soul, neo-soul, jazz and gospel, with a strong focus on emotion, melody and connection.

Music has been part of her life from an early age. She started writing poetry and lyrics at thirteen, while gospel was one of her first musical influences. Over time, she developed her own sound through soul, jazz, R&B and pop, drawing inspiration from artists such as SZA, H.E.R., Snoh Aalegra, Victoria Monét and Jazmine Sullivan.

Her music is personal and often connected to themes of love, self-discovery and emotional experiences. Her 2023 EP Fall In Love With Me, The Tape explores love in its different forms, with dreamy melodies and a warm vocal style.

Alongside her own music, Joëlle has also been involved in different collective projects. She has performed as part of BURn, a vocal project connected to the jazz scenes of Leuven and Brussels, and was part of the Distorted Rap Choir in Leuven.

With a sound rooted in R&B, soul and gospel, Joëlle Francis puts emotion and authenticity at the centre of her music. Her songs create a space where personal experiences can become something shared with the listener.
