Johannes Eimermacher is a German-born saxophonist and composer based in Brussels. He studied jazz and saxophone at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen and has developed his work around jazz, improvisation and contemporary music.

He is particularly known for his work with the saxophone and for his interest in exploring sound, interaction and improvisation. In 2017, he founded La Nuée, a Brussels-based ensemble built around a group of saxophones and drums. The project focuses on collective interaction, composition and the possibilities of creating music with several similar instruments.

Johannes is also involved in different projects within the Brussels and European jazz and improvised music scenes. He has worked with musicians such as Audrey Lauro, Frans Van Isacker, Hanne De Backer, Sylvain Debaisieux and João Lobo, among others.

His music moves between composed and improvised forms, with a strong interest in texture, space and the relationship between musicians. Rather than staying within a single definition of jazz, Johannes Eimermacher approaches music as a space for listening, experimentation and interaction.
