Lucy Djoanna, real name Lucy Evans, is a Ghent-based singer-songwriter, musician and performer. Her musical world moves between soul, funk, R&B and pop, driven by a distinctive voice and a strong sense of rhythm.

Taking a self-taught approach to songwriting, Lucy draws on personal experiences and situations from her own life, transforming them into direct and honest songs. She played the harp for many years before discovering in singing a more complete way of expressing herself.

Under the name Mamamamuzic, she creates music deeply connected to her roots and influences, including Erykah Badu, Lauryn Hill, Amy Winehouse and Nina Simone. Her sound is built around groove, emotion and organic energy, with a distinctly old-school approach.

Moving between soul and danceable R&B, Lucy Djoanna is developing a warm and personal sound where voice and rhythm take centre stage.
