Ollivier Stanley

Stanley Ollivier is a French-Caribbean multidisciplinary artist based in Brussels. Their practice moves across dance, performance, sound and radiophonic creation. They studied at the International Dance Academy and the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse in Paris before completing both a Bachelor and Master of Arts in Dance at P.A.R.T.S. in Brussels.

Stanley’s work explores alternative ways of dancing, being together and existing, while questioning notions of normativity, identity, humour and the role of entertainment in contemporary art. Their choreographic practice plays with ambiguity, fantasy and the possibilities of the body, moving between vulnerability, strength and freedom.

They are also part of the Ballroom Scene and work as a DJ under the name STANLEY, bringing movement, music and queer culture together in a multifaceted artistic practice. Stanley is also co-founder of ENTWINED, a radiophonic and artistic project connecting different artistic disciplines and international creative scenes.

Through performances, sound research and collaborations, Stanley Ollivier creates a sensitive, physical and distinctly contemporary universe in which the body becomes a space for expression, resistance and imagination.
