Spout Big Space

Spout Big Space is a five-piece Brussels band from Schaerbeek, featuring Axel Winkel on vocals, Mathieu Leonard on guitar, Jacob Miller on bass, Arnaud “Guich” Guichard on saxophone and Maxime Van Eerdewegh on drums.

The band’s name came from a typo made years ago, but there is nothing particularly controlled about their music. Somewhere between garage punk, rock’n’roll, noise and post-punk, Spout Big Space combines the raw energy of FIDLAR, the madness of Fat White Family and the darker atmospheres of Bauhaus and The Sonics.

The result is both dark and festive: sharp guitars, restless rhythms, a saxophone adding fuel to the chaos and vocals that often feel almost incantatory. The band thrives on contrasts — somewhere between laughter and tears, collective release and melancholy.

Built around a group of friends, some of whom have known each other since childhood, Spout Big Space embraces a spontaneous and unfiltered approach to making music. Songs take shape in rehearsal, starting from ideas brought in by different members and gradually finding their way through the chaos.

Spout Big Space is Brussels garage punk: dark, funny, nervous and just weird enough to fit nowhere.
